Since I have the day off from school due to spring break I thought that I would take another peek at the sun today and see how much its face has changed since yesterday. Needless to say I am not disappointed.  I even attempted to take a actual photograph through my scope using my Android Smartphone with this result. Not too shabby for point and shoot.  You can make out the larger sunspots on the picture. The bright spot in the upper left hand corner of the photo is an artifact.

Update

It has been quite a while since I have posted to this blog.   A lot has happened.  I have relocated to Marrero, LA which is a suburb of New Orleans.  I now live 5 miles from the Louisiana Superdome. 

My marriage in California failed for reasons not to be discussed here.  I am currently substituting for Kelly Educational Services.  I am undecided if I will go back to teaching or try to find a new career. 

Currently I am horseless as I had to give up Nina to a good home. 

However, I have a new love of my life, Laura, whom I have known for 35 years.  We are very happy together and I am once again involved in Astronomy with the Ponchartrain Astronomical Society.

Life is good.
